heykyle: typeverything: Typeverything.com - The harder you work, the luckier you get by Studio Muti. I don’t know if this is true anymore at all. I’ve wasted a lot of time thinking about those who start from a different place: those whose parents were able to foot the bill for undergrad and housing, enabling them to take on unpaid internships that make them better qualified to approach paid internships. How those with money/power connect with each other and keep things “within the fold.” It’s wasted energy, I know. I didn’t have a social life in undergrad because I chose to work tirelessly on craft and attempting to fine-tune my skills because I worked full time and could not take cheesy, unpaid internships in attempt to build my resumé. And nearly a year after graduation, I’m working full-time at a bakery, 5am starts and 3:30am alarm clocks, and I don’t think it has anything to do with luck. I work hard in hopes that it’ll catch up with me, but as of yet it hasn’t. ^ this is what really concerns me… because at the end of the day i’m going to have to pay loans that are the size of a mortgage. The harder you work… the more skills you have should hopefully open doors in the future. I’m crossing my fingers that all of the energy and time i put into what i do will hopefully do that.
